Google Glass

Hey guys! Today in class we got to experience Google Glass and how it works. I read a few articles and reviews on the tool and found out some really interesting information. I personally love the idea of Google Glass and believe it would be a spectacular device to use for everyone -- not just journalists -- if the privacy settings were changed. By simply having a way to notify people when they are being recorded or photographed and setting regulations for driving while using the glasses, they can be a beneficial tool to anyone who needs them.

After reading a Chicago Tribune article I learned how Glass could be of help even to paramedics.

According to techdar.com, Google Glass received a 4.5 out of a 5-star rating.

After today's class and hands-on experience, do you agree more with the use of Google Glass or do you disagree for whatever reason?

I agree that people should use Google glass more, its not only convenient but helpful in many ways. It should also be more incorporated in schools as well, because that would make teaching easier or presennting projects easier.

I agree with the use of Google glass because it's an advancement of technology and it can help many journalists effectively complete various tasks such as taking pictures or recording. Also Google glass you can complete research by asking it questions about anything you need to know.

I think Google Glass is a really cool and innovative idea; however, I believe that for journalistic reasons, it is too unethical. I think people would generally be offended and upset if they found out a journalist was taking pictures of them without permission or their knowing, and there could be a lot of lawsuits involved with that. Although, I think that it is still a really cool technology for an average person to use for non-journalism reasons.

I do agree with the use of the Google Glass because I am a fan of technology and it can be the next innovational way to get tasks done and enjoy life. For journalism it could be a way to record audio and video and get important details for an interview process. I think that Google Glass needs to have a light notifying that a picture is being taken and a video is recording to give people an opportunity to get out of the way if they wouldn't like that. It could be great for undercover investigations but as more people learn about it they may recognize it and feel violated when they're around people who wear them. But I think Google Glass is the next big thing to connect people to the internet which gives you unlimited capabilities.

I agree with the use of Google Glass because it can make things a lot more convenient for people and can help them carry out certain tasks more effectively. I do think that there is a lot more work to do on google glass, but it is a very innovative product.

I think using Google Glass would be beneficial for schools, hospitals, journalists, and various other occupations. The problem with them is privacy issues. Specifically, for journalism, it's deemed unethical due to the camera on it not being noticeable to others when snapping photos. Ultimately, I think its a step in the right direction for technology and education, but its uses and other functions need to be perfected.
